Carly Domrow
How long have you been riding, and what disciplines do you participate in?
I began riding when I was 10 years old after many years of ballet. Although back then my parents told me ‘you can learn to ride, but don’t think you are going to get a pony’. I began competing with Australian Stock Horses when I was 15 years old and have been competing ever since. Before Stock Horses I competed throughout Queensland and New South Wales at Pony Club Sporting and Campdrafting events.
Can you share a memorable experience or achievement from your time as a horse rider?
My most memorable experience was winner the Maturity Plate with my 4 year old gelding Meluca Stud Dazzle at the Australian Stock Horse Nationals. I was training him in his 2 year old and 3 year old year, so it was fantastic to be able to put it altogether at such an elite level.
What are your goals and aspirations in your equestrian journey?
I am always striving to present my horses to the best of their ability, not just physically, but also in their education. Education takes rider dedication and time. I thoroughly enjoy the never-ending learning journey with each and every horse to continually further their education. I aspire to never stop learning and I’m always looking for ways to improve with my horses.
What is your must-have Peter William item and why?
Jeans! A have both Clermont & Tamworth jeans that are my ‘go to’ for competition jeans. They combine elegance with comfort!
